SMART Goal 10: Developing a Sustainable Transportation Plan for an Event

By June 10th, 2025, I will design and implement a sustainable transportation plan for an upcoming event. This plan will involve establishing a partnership with a transportation company to provide organized group travel options. To inform the plan’s design, I will conduct a brief survey to assess attendees’ typical transportation habits when no organized travel is available. The objective is to reduce reliance on individual car use and promote more sustainable and socially responsible travel alternatives. This initiative addresses broader industry challenges related to sustainability, public safety, and community wellbeing, particularly considering the influences of drugs and alcohol on event transportation.

S – Specific

The goal focuses on creating a sustainable transportation strategy that incorporates partnerships and data insights to influence attendee travel behaviour, targeting both environmental and social responsibility.

M – Measurable

Completion will be measured by the development and implementation of the transportation plan, including conducting the survey and securing a transportation company partnership.

A – Achievable

The goal is achievable given access to transportation providers and event attendees for survey participation. The scope is realistic within the time frame and resource availability.

R – Relevant

This objective aligns with professional ethics and social orientation by promoting sustainable travel, reducing environmental impact, and addressing safety concerns related to drug and alcohol use. It demonstrates a proactive approach to managing complex industry challenges.
